Write about a book series in a single blog post

One book post is quick and easy.

Click Text, search the title on the wooden bar, select review stars, add your text and voila!

Your book review is ready, the big cover is auto attached on the left with the text wrapping, review stars visible on the right. The following snapshot presents the public blog view:

Writing about the book series isn't much longer, apart from the reading process of course. To review a book series click text and use as many book spots on the wooden bar as you want (the + for another titles will appear automatically).

You can add up to 10 titles in one post, it's not perfect but it's enough for the majority of the book series out there.

The following graphic shows the blog view, all covers are put above the text, the review stars on the right.

Do you prefer reviewing a single book or the book series?

Oh wow..

Unbeautiful - Jessica Sorensen

It's an interesting book. Though I am left with many questions, I hope they are answered in the 2nd book.. this book is based on 2 book series. With alot if mystery, dark secrets and the desire to be free..

Something new and light.

Petals - Laurisa White Reyes

Ahh, I had a good feeling about this book and honestly, I am impressed. This is a kind of a mystery novel but a light read.. if you are a mystery lover but want to get a break with all those intense thriller and mysterious novels.. this is for you all...

This book has everything, from love, family, regrets and getting back up again. I am totally going to recommend this book to everyone!!!

Pretty Woman: Isabella - Jamie Brook Thompson

(The Copy of Book For an Honest Review)
I liked the story of the book but it needed a lot of improvement both in the story and the characters. there were no twists or turns in the book to keep me on the edge. i just was in hurry to finish the book and reach the end which was very predictable. i still wished a little more from this book. but all in all, it is a good and lighthearted, clean book for passing the time.

Not That Bad!

Flawed - Cecelia Ahern

I heard many negative reviews about this book. But in my opinion it was different.I loved the story line and the characters of the book. Though the ending was disappointing. I am still hoping that more parts will be released in this book, so we could understand what happens to the Guild and the the Flawed organization.

Overload - Linda Howard

Couldn't finish.. Not my kind of book....

Beautiful mix of andscapes and photographs of animals

Review- The Trouble With Faking.

The Trouble with Faking (The Trouble Series Book 3) - Rachel Morgan

A perfect story to move on and leaving the past behind. it gives a right lesson, that when we expect things from someone, we are greatly disappointed when we spend time with that person and he is not what he actually seems.

Andi has been friends with Damien from their childhood but her childish expectations and dreams are in chaos when she gets the real chance to date her friend. She is confused, she is not sure of her own dreams anymore.

Noah is friends with Damien- but why is he getting so attracted to the girl with weird yet funky sense of style?

This mess becomes a real love triangle when Andi starts doubting her fantasies and isn't sure if she likes Damien(her best friend) or Noah (the guy who accepts her the way she is)

It is a nice story with a romance and the struggles of a teenager- confused with her own feelings. The characters were funny and well made- though sometimes the dialogues would be meaningless and the story would stretch in part where it was unnecessary.

I enjoyed this books, I enjoyed the character and especially the hobby of our heroine (making funky clothes, recycling things into awesome accessories and a Book Reviewer).

And I was extremelyyyyyyy happy with the ending. one book which has a vey satisfying ending.

It is a perfect book when you want a break from all your intense novels and just want to read something light-heart.

Review: What A Rogue Wants

What A Rogue Wants - Julie Johnstone

I am seriously in love with this book. Maybe it has been a long time that I read a historical novel and also the one with a feisty heroine(which I always like in such novels. Honestly i hate clingy depending heroines).

the characters were cute and the sense of love was just amazing- no matter the betrayal revolving around and the conflict to chose between the country and a women, I like how both the hero and heroine, i-e, Madeleine and Grey- somehow pass through the conflicts.

The book is amazingly written and enjoyed it a lot. The mystery was perfect- but i still wish the villain could have suffered a little more- the way he and other situations caused the couple to doubt and question their love for each other.

I am totally going to recommend this book to everyone- especially the historical romance readers and lovers.

Literary Style

I love when books meet fashion.

Reblogged from Cat's Books: Romance :

Not everyone has a sweetheart nor wants one.  They say you can't meet anyone nice in a bar. Who says you want someone nice?  Who says you are nice? :)

Happy Valentine's!

Here are some great romances that started in a bar!

My lists are never in any particular order.

1.  Truly by Ruthie Knox  $2.99

May Fredericks hates New York. Which is fair enough, since New York seems to hate her back. After relocating to Manhattan from the Midwest to be with her long-distance boyfriend, NFL quarterback Thor Einarsson, May receives the world’s worst marriage proposal, stabs the jerk with a shrimp fork, and storms off alone—only to get mugged. Now she’s got no phone, no cash, and no friends. How’s a nice girl supposed to get back to safe, sensible Wisconsin?

Frankly, Ben Hausman couldn’t care less. Sure, it’s not every day he meets a genuine, down-to-earth woman like May—especially in a dive in the Village—but he’s recovering from an ugly divorce that cost him his restaurant. He wants to be left alone to start over and become a better man. Then again, playing the white knight to May’s sexy damsel in distress would be an excellent place to start—if only he can give her one very good reason to love New York.

2. Her Best Shot by Shannyn Schroeder Free!

With college graduation looming, three childhood friends vow to make spring break their last blast of pure fun. But at least one of them didn't count on such incredible heat...Layla Sharpe is definitely more math ninja than bikini babe, and her future has been calculated with razor precision. Convinced to let loose over spring break, Layla is finally ready to party--until her car breaks down halfway to her destination, leaving her stranded in Georgia with a mouthwateringly hot pool shark. She knows more than enough about angles to learn the game, but this week she wants him to appreciate her curves...
Phin Marks has never met a girl like Layla. She's more Star Wars geek than seductress, and when he offers her a place to stay while her car is in the shop, he's counting on the attraction between them to set the nights ablaze, no strings attached. But every moment he spends with Layla makes it harder to let her go. Can he persuade her to gamble in the most dangerous way possible...on forever?

3. Liberating Lacey by Anne Calhoun

Newly divorced Lacey Meyers wasted too many years yawning through sex in the missionary position. Now she's looking for a hookup with a man who can make her shatter. What she gets is a hot younger cop with handcuffs. . .and he's not afraid to use them. Hunter Anderson knows the score-though classy, successful women like Lacey might play with guys like him, at the end of the evening, they walk. But when one night leads to another and then another, he finds himself getting too attached to a woman he can't have. Lacey knows Hunter-gorgeous, hard-edged and eight years younger-won't want anything permanent. No matter how hot and daring he makes her first public sex, quickie, backseat encounter and secret fantasy role-play, she can't mistake adventurous sex for emotional involvement. They both know it's got to end, and soon, or someone's going to get hurt. But can either of them go back to life without the other?

4. Enemy Within by Marysol James

hen Emma Cartwright gets some very (very) bad health news, she handles it in just about the last way that anybody who knows her would expect. Namely, she heads out alone to a bar on Friday night, intent on having her first-ever one-night-stand. A single night of escape with a scorching guy, and then she’ll focus on her treatment and recovery. After all, what’s one night, really?

Ever since coming back from Afghanistan two years ago, Dean Jessop’s life is all about ‘just one night’. No commitment; nothing permanent; nothing long-term. He meets Emma and one night of hot sex later, she sneaks out of Dean’s place while he sleeps – and they both think that’s it. Neither expects to see the other ever again.

A month later, a chance encounter brings them back in to each other’s lives. They strike an agreement which includes: casual sex only, nothing too personal, and they can end it anytime with a single word. What Emma and Dean don’t count on is developing strong and real feelings for each other, despite Emma hiding her disease and Dean running from his guilt.

When Dean finally tells Emma what happened in Afghanistan, she wonders if she can confess her own dark secret. But can she really expect him to forgive her for hiding her illness from him? If she tells him the truth, will he be there for her through it all? And can she help him make peace with his own demons?

5. The Trouble With Valentine's Day by Rachel Gibson

It's the one day each year when being single is a sin . . .

The Trouble With Valentine's Day?

It just plain stinks!

Kate Hamilton should know. Dumped by her boyfriend, burnt out by her job, she's returned to Gospel, Idaho, where a Mountain Momma Crafters' original poetry reading is about as good as it gets on a Friday night. Then her first attempted seduction of a hunky stranger is completely rejected. So much for her self-esteem!

It turns out that Rob Sutter, former ice hockey madman, owner of Sutter's Sports—and the hunky stranger who told her to get lost—has been more than burned by love and isn't looking for a relationship. But then he and Kate find themselves in an ultra-compromising position in the M&S Market after-hours, giving the phrase "clean up in aisle five" a whole new meaning, and causing a whole lot of gossip in Gospel . . .

6.  Blue Skies  by Catherine Anderson

Carly had to wait 28 years to see what a man looked like. Born with Lattice dystrophy, Carly's sight has only recently been restored; and to celebrate, she accompanies a friend to a bar. Unused to alcohol and the attention of a handsome cowboy, Carly lets Hank Coulter take her to his truck, but that humiliating experience not only leaves Carly not caring if she ever has sex or sees Hank again but pregnant as well, which threatens her sight. As soon as Hank finds out, he tries to convince Carly to let him help her. The two agree to a marriage in name only to solve Carly's financial problems, but Hank realizes that he's in love and sets out to do whatever it takes to turn their temporary arrangement into something permanent. Readers might need to wipe away tears as they read Anderson's latest contemporary romance featuring another of her Coulter brothers, since few will be able to resist the power of this beautifully emotional, wonderfully romantic love story.

7. One Hot Texan by Jane Sullivan

HE NEEDS A WILLING WOMAN…

Rebel Cole McCallum is back home, but not by choice. If he doesn't get married soon, he's going to lose his inheritance. But who would want to marry a complete stranger? Lucky for him, he has his pick of women. What this bad boy didn't plan on, though, was choosing the least likely candidate…and finding her irresistible.

SHE'S WILLING TO OBLIGE…

Wallflower Ginny White is ready to break free of her prissy reputation. When she discovers sexy Cole McCallum has returned, she knows he can teach her a thing or two. She's sure she's hit the jackpot when he asks her to marry him, even if it's only temporary. Six months is more than enough time to make this one hot Texan hers…!

8. Keeping Her by Kelly Lucille

At 28, Clytie Persephone Jones has reinvented herself into exactly what she wants to be. She changed her name, put herself through school, and is taking chances on a risky art career. She’s not looking for marriage; she doesn’t need anyone to run her life for her. What she yearns for is passion. She wants to burn under a man’s touch. A lukewarm simmer won’t cut it. She’s holding out for the real thing.

Demon is a Wolf Shifter. A seven-foot tall x-Navy SEAL, with no name but his call sign. Banding together with other outcast shifters and rogues for safety and the first real brotherhood he has known, he asks for nothing in life but the protection and solvency of his self-made “pack.”

Neither of them expects the connection that flares so fast between them. Clytie wants time to get to know him. Demon figures he’ll just bring her right home into his bed and keep her there.

Can she deal with both the reality of an Alpha shape-shifter and the danger presented by Demons past?

With his chiseled jaw and thick blond hair, Harrison Montgomery was born to lead. Four generations of Montgomery men have served the state of Georgia, and now he’s next in line. Harrison, though, is driven to right wrongs: namely to clean up the political mess left by his father’s greed and corruption. But Harrison must first win his congressional bid, and nothing can get in his way—not even an angel who served him whiskey and gave him a shoulder to lean on and a body to love for a night. Problem is, she’s pregnant. Scandal is brewing, and there is only one solution: marriage.

Damage control? Ryan Kaminski can’t believe that a cold, calculating political animal now inhabits the body of the emotionally vulnerable stranger who gave her the most unforgettable night of her life. Really, she doesn’t want anything from Harrison, except to be left alone to have her baby in peace. But Ryan is broke, jobless, and essentially blackmailed by Harrison’s desperate family to accept this crazy marriage deal. For two years, she will have to act the role of caring, supportive wife. But what is Ryan supposed to do when she realizes that, deep in her heart, she’s falling in love?

Gwendolyn Kidd has met the man of her dreams. He's hot, he's sexy, and what started as a no-names-exchanged night of passion has blossomed into a year and a half-long pleasure fest. Sure, it's a little strange that he only appears in her bed at night, but Gwen is so sure he's the one, she just can't turn him away...

Hawk Delgado knows more about Gwen than she could ever imagine. She's gorgeous, headstrong, and skittish about relationships. But Hawk is facing his own demons, demons that keep him from connecting with anyone. Yet when Gwen is drawn into Denver's lethal underground scene, Hawk's protective nature comes out full force. The problem is, when Gwen gets a dose of Hawk's Alpha attitude in the daylight, she's not so sure he's the one anymore....

10.  His Risk to Take by Tessa Bailey 99 cents!

Homicide cop Troy Bennett had a reputation with the Chicago PD for being fearless and in control—until the night his daredevil partner is killed during a raid. From that moment on, he swears he’ll never again be responsible for the loss of a loved one. To escape his demons, Troy transfers to the NYPD, bringing him up close and personal with Ruby Elliott, a beautiful, street-savvy pool hustler.

Reckless and stubbornly independent, Ruby embodies everything Troy’s avoiding, but when she walks into the pub he’s at with his new coworkers and blows his carefully laid plans to hell, Troy knows he has to have her—risks be damned. But there’s a connection between Ruby’s shadowed past and a case Troy’s working involving a notorious Brooklyn felon, throwing her safety into jeopardy. Confronted with his biggest fear, will Troy push Ruby away to keep her safe or fight to keep her in his arms where she belongs?

Nothing like a little (or big) natural disaster to bring out the romance. Well, in the case of hurricanes you are likely to dine by candlelight.

Here are some wonderful Romance Novels featuring Hurricanes, Typhoons and Tropical Storms.

My lists are never in any particular order.

1.  The Theory of Attraction by Delphine Dryden $2.99

Camilla can set her watch by her hunky rocket-scientist neighbor who jogs past her window each day. She relishes each glimpse of his shirtless abs, and is dying to see more. But it's hard to connect with a man who doesn't seem to know she exists...

Ivan feels at home in the lab, not in social situations. When he finally approaches his attractive neighbor, it's not for a date—he wants tutoring in how to behave at an important fundraiser. Ivan doesn't expect the chemistry between them to be quite so explosive, and is surprised when Cami actually accepts his proposal to embark on a series of "lessons."

Cami soon discovers Ivan's schedule isn't the only thing he likes to be strict about—he needs to be charge in the bedroom as well. She's shocked at how much she comes to enjoy her submissive side, but wonders if a real relationship is in the equation...

2. Roman Holiday: The Complete Adventure by Ruthie Knox

Ashley Bowman has always been impetuous, but even she is a little shocked when she chains herself to a palm tree in the Florida Keys hours before a hurricane is due to blow in. It’s all with the hope of saving her childhood home from a heartless Miami developer. But the moment she meets Roman Díaz she realizes he does have a heart—it’s just encased in ice. Ashley’s determined to get Roman to crack . . . even if she has to drag him all over the eastern seaboard to do it.

Roman can hardly believe he’s been talked into driving across the country with this brazen wild child in a skimpy bikini. He tells himself he had no choice—Ashley insists he meets the elderly snowbirds whose community will be displaced by his career-making development deal. But in truth he knows that there’s something about Ashley that makes him want to get a little wild himself . . . and the closer they get, the more tempted he becomes.

3. Forecast by Jane Tara

The Shakespeare women were what the locals of Greenwich Village called "gifted."

They did tarot readings and cast spells from their infamous shop Second Site. And each morning, Rowie would perform her popular weather prediction on the pavement outside.

Sure, Rowie's predictions were helpful for forecasting the weather, but when it came to love, her abilities were more like a curse. Why bother dating a guy if you knew at the first kiss he was destined for someone else? And how would she ever meet anyone while she was stuck working at the family shop?

Rowie was resigned to never finding love. Until Drew Henderson, New York's hottest weatherman is injured and the network decides to replace him with a gimmick—the Psychic Weatherwoman.

The very scientific Drew is furious. The witch might light up the TV screen. But how dare the network make a mockery of meteorology.

Now Rowie's overbearing grandmother Gwendolyn won't talk to her. Sixteen generations of Shakespeare women have worked in the family business. How dare she make a mockery of her gift.

But Rowie loves her new job, and won't let anyone ruin it. Until the day Drew Henderson kisses her, and she can't predict his future. In fact she can't predict anything.

4. Hurricane Hannah by Sue Civil-Brown

Her plan?
Ferry a client's plane to Aruba, play a little poker, get some sun…

Not in her plan? An emergency landing on a volcanic island full of lunatics, an approaching hurricane, a dashingly annoying airstrip owner named Buck Shanahan (who seems as fond of poker as she is) and a lonely, lovesick alligator called Buster…

Sassy redheaded pilot Hannah Lamont has no time for back-island bumpkins like Buck and his buddies—until the hurricane bears down, grounding her on tiny Treasure Island. Treasure, ha! Aside from a couple of ratty tiki huts, all this flyspeck can boast is a casino—and it's right in the path of the storm. But as Hannah throws her chips in with Buck and the islanders to save the place, the stakes may be higher than she dreamed…and winning brings rewards she never expected.

5. Hot Intent by Cindy Dees

Katie McCloud just wants to be a mom to Dawn and girlfriend to Dr. Alex Peters. But the violent unrest that brought them all together is once again erupting into their lives. Sent to Cuba to help care for hurricane victims, Katie and Alex are thrust back into the thick of international espionage—this time, on opposite sides.

Katie thought she'd made peace with the secrets locked tight behind Alex's handsome, brooding facade. Back in hostile territory, though, those secrets threaten the very bond that holds them together. And Alex? He's finding out that what he holds most precious—Katie and tiny Dawn—is making him way too vulnerable. He's going to have to make a choice…soon

6. After the Storm by Amy Knupp

With a hurricane heading for the Texas coast, Nadia Hamlin needs to evacuate. Now. Before she can leave, however, there's one more thing she has to do—despite the risk. But that delay lands her trapped in her car in the middle of the storm. Fortunately, firefighter Penn Griffin arrives. Unfortunately, her good-looking rescuer suffers a career-ending injury in the process.

The only way Nadia can think to make amends is to help Penn get back on his feet. Even if he doesn't want anything to do with her, she won't give up. Her determination has an unexpected impact. Because soon he can't seem to get enough of her.

7. Royal Street by Suzanne Johnson

As the junior wizard sentinel for New Orleans, Drusilla Jaco’s job involves a lot more potion-mixing and pixie-retrieval than sniffing out supernatural bad guys like rogue vampires and lethal were-creatures. DJ's boss and mentor, Gerald St. Simon, is the wizard tasked with protecting the city from anyone or anything that might slip over from the preternatural beyond.

Then Hurricane Katrina hammers New Orleans’ fragile levees, unleashing more than just dangerous flood waters.

While winds howled and Lake Pontchartrain surged, the borders between the modern city and the Otherworld crumbled. Now, the undead and the restless are roaming the Big Easy, and a serial killer with ties to voodoo is murdering the soldiers sent to help the city recover.

To make it worse, Gerry has gone missing, the wizards’ Elders have assigned a grenade-toting assassin as DJ’s new partner, and undead pirate Jean Lafitte wants to make her walk his plank. The search for Gerry and for the serial killer turns personal when DJ learns the hard way that loyalty requires sacrifice, allies come from the unlikeliest places, and duty mixed with love creates one bitter gumbo.

8. A Stranger's Gift by Anna Schmidt

On the heels of a horrific hurricane, Hester Detlef, field director for the Mennonite Disaster Service, blows into the life of self-made, shunned Amish man John Hafner. Will she find a way through his shield and into his heart? Although the hurricane has left John homeless and badly injured, the last thing he wants is some do-gooder Mennonite woman intruding in his life. Will his impatience with her intention of restoring his faith and property keep him from accepting this beguiling stranger’s kindness?

9. One Night in Santiago by Audra North 99 cents!

Lily Stanton's vacation goes from bad to worse when a storm strands her in a foreign country, arguing with an arrogant—and very sexy—stranger over the last available hotel room.

Successful CEO Bruno Komarov wasn't expecting the gorgeous woman checking in at the reception desk to challenge him over a room. Even more surprising, he actually enjoys their exchange.

But when Lily proposes a compromise—she'll take the bed and he can sleep on the couch—Bruno pushes his attraction aside and assures himself that this can remain strictly business. After all, they're both adults capable of keeping their hands to themselves. They'll share the room, get a good night's sleep, and be off to their respective destinations in the morning.

What could possibly happen in just one night?

10. A Dark and Stormy Night by Anne Stuart

The man had secrets…

Blindsided by a hurricane, Katie Flynn was seeking shelter from the storm—but all she found was a moody, broody recluse named O'Neal. Trapped with him in his house on a windswept cliff overlooking the wildly tossed sea, Katie tried to fight the feelings O'Neal awakened in her—both of sensuality and fear. She began to suspect that something haunted the tall, gray-eyed man's domain, something more than the wicked servants or family ghosts… something strange that only O'Neal himself could reveal.

Review:Righting a Wrong.

Righting a Wrong (a Ripple Effect Romance Novella, Book 3) - Rachael Anderson

Such a light read. It is a short novella with a beautiful story of finding oneself and trying to get back the love you lost. Cambri wanted to explore the world, discover new opportunities outside the town. In her dream she ignored the love she was getting from her Best Friend Jace Sutton and in this event she breaks his heart when she disappears suddenly. Now she returns and realizes how incomplete her life is. But is Jace going to give her a chance or the spark and chemistry between them will go to waste again.

It is a Clean Contemporary Romance and after all the paranormal thriller genres we read it is a good break to relax. The characters are sweet and the feelings are shown in a vivid and picturesque way.

It is totally recommended to the readers of every genre.

Listening To Dust - Brandon ShireInto This River I Drown - T.J. KluneAristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe - Benjamin Alire SáenzBeautiful Music for Ugly Children - Kirstin Cronn-MillsThe Death Factory: A Penn Cage Novella - Greg Iles

I stopped at 10 and I tried to stay away from series because well that would have created a whole other problem as in a really, really long list. I read a lot of books in 2014 that I really, really loved. I started out thinking that I could make myself pick just one and in my mind one quickly became 5 and 2 books into this list 5 became 10. So this is where I make myself stop... read more & see all top books

Favorite Reads of 2014 Part I: Interesting Facts and My Top Ten by The Reading Perusals of Rose Summers

Hate List - Jennifer BrownPrep School Confidential - Kara TaylorThin Space - Jody CasellaFrenzy - Robert LettrickThe Silent Wife - A.S.A. Harrison

So, in total for this year, I've read 168 books (maybe slightly more because there were some I didn't mark, but I know it was less than 200), which is way, way less than my total from 2012 (which was 365 books), and far less than the goal I set for myself this year (450)... read more & see all top books

Best Book Covers and Book Titles in 2014 by HFK

You should never judge a book by its cover, but it happens. This year I bought lots of books with beautiful covers, but unfortunately only read few with covers that I would label as doable... read more & see all top books

Books I Read and REALLY Liked in 2014 by Batgrl: Bookish Hooha

I've been enjoying everyone's end of year summings up (in various fun forms) and thinking on making one of my own - and I couldn't quite come up with a way to rank anything. Which is I suppose what happens when you end up reading a variety of random things. Anyway, there's no order to this - except I have a particular fondness for the first book mentioned. History wins out this year, which isn't always the case... read more & see all top books

My Top Books of 2014 by hippieed perceptions

Mud Vein - Tarryn Fisher The Bronze Horseman - Paullina SimonsThe Handmaid's Tale - Margaret AtwoodGeek Love - Katherine DunnThe Thousand-Dollar Tan Line - Rob Thomas, Jennifer Graham

As I was going through my read book list, I realized that this year kind of sucked for reading for me.  The few that I loved, I really really loved though, so I guess that is something.  I did kind of cheat because I added Geek Love even though I'm not quite done.  When you know, you know though... read more & see all top book

My Top Books of 2014 by YA FANATIC

As I near my 200 book goal I want to share with you my top books of this past year. I've read many not so great books but have also found some new favorites. I also started listening to audiobooks, several of my favorites are because I listened to them. These are in no particular order (except maybe the first one). Enjoy... read more & see all top books

Books Read in 2014 by Ani's Book Abyss

As it stands, it isn't easy to narrow 150 books down to a Top Ten list.  And so I chose to re-format my list just a little bit.  I also needed to account for the fact that I like Young Adult novels differently than I like Adult and non-YA novels--Yes, there is a difference in how I perceive a book dependent on target audience. Without further ado, and in no particular order... read more & see all top books

Top 14 Reads of 2014 by Book Sand Worm

Keep in mind that by “favorite”, I mean this list is very subjective. In looking back, these are the ones that I enjoyed the most even though I read a lot of very good books this year... read more & see all favorite books

Top Ten Reads of 2014 by Unabridged Chick

I read about 50 books for 2014, which is a huge drop from my typical year (almost by half!). Pregnancy, and the resulting baby, are to blame, and while I'm a little disappointed, the aforementioned baby -- our Little Reader -- is so frickin' cute, I kind of can't care. I still walked away with some stellar reads for 2014, and once again, had a challenging time identifying the top ten of this year.  In the end, I picked the books I still talk about obsessively, that I purchased (for myself and/or others), and that I want to reread or force others to read... read more & see all top books

Best of 2014 - Part 1 - The Reliables & Part 2 - The Overachievers by Tina's Reading Books

Magic Breaks - Ilona AndrewsWhispers Under Ground - Ben AaronovitchA London Season - Joan WolfThe Way of Kings - Brandon SandersonMurder of Crows - Anne Bishop

Part 1: My 2014 reading year was much better than my 2013 reading year.  Not in volume, because I read about the same number of books.  But In quality. In 2013 I  had a massive reading slump and was down 75% in my total reading for the year as compared to 2012.  Nothing seemed to work for me past a few strong installments in long running series and  couple of new-to-authors that came out strong. In contrast, 2014 started out strong... read more & see all top books

Part 2: So as I look over my reads this year and compare them to the physical books I've amassed over the last 30-ish years on my shelves, I am struck by the difference in page lengths. Which in a round-about way brings me to this segment of my Best of 2014.The Overachievers are the two authors whose works this year was so good that I had to include two of their books in my top ten.  A rarity for me... read more & see all top books
